Mission and Goals

As director of Emmanuel Episcopal Day School, I’d like to share with you some exciting news about our preschool.

We are privileged to be a part of the West Memorial community and want you and your family to have a special relationship with our school. If you have preschool-age children, I invite you to visit our school and find out more about our curriculum and activities. Church members and currently enrolled families will receive priority registration for the 2010-2011 school year beginning February 1, 2010. Open enrollment begins February 8, 2010. The first day of school is scheduled for Tuesday September 7, 2010.

Over the past few years, the Day School has been honored as a recipient of various grants, administered by the University of St. Thomas, to develop and improve our Language Arts, Library, and Teacher/Parent Resource center, Music & movement etc.. These grants have already enabled us to provide curriculum enrichment, new library books, and a wealth of Parent resources. We are continuing to purchase new instructional materials and equipment for the classrooms. In addition, our teachers will be receiving special training for implementation and instruction.

This summer, the Day School will once again provide a summer fun program open to all children three to five years old. (Two year olds can attend if currently enrolled in the Day School.) So mark your calendars:

Emmanuel Episcopal Day School operates under the following guidelines:

Mission Statement:

To provide a stimulating developmental program within a loving, Christian environment for preschool children, ages eighteen months to five years.

Goals:

The school seeks to focus on the total child and his/her cognitive, social, physical, emotional and spiritual needs within the framework of the Episcopal Church. This is done through small classes and a low teacher-pupil ratio.

Christian Environment:

Children are taught within Christian education guidelines through church holiday celebrations, Bible stories, prayers of thanks at mealtime and snacktime, and weekly chapel.
